Mock Assessment.

Clarity in knowing where you are.

And where you could be.

Why Mock Assessment?

Did you know that an average size care home can lose between £200,000 to £350,000 per year if they receive a Requires Improvement or Inadequate rating? That’s a lot of lost revenue. We can help make sure that doesn’t happen.

Every service type and size should undergo regular mock assessment to understand where they currently are with their governance. It also helps support you in providing evidence for the Well-Led Key Questions.

The truth is, any service type getting a rating of less then Good will start to feel the impact of lost business. Direct clients will go elsewhere, current clients may move, contracts with partners, referrers and local authorities will in some case cease altogether. We can’t let that happen.

Our mock assessment service not only assess you in line with what CQC assessors are looking for under the new assessment framework, the Single Assessment Framework but also supplies you with advice regarding other areas of compliance and the law that you may not have noticed.

We’ll create a recommendation list and structured ways in which you can implement the changes needed. We can also help support you in the implementation of those changes if needed^.

Speaking with Service Users, Staff & Partners

We start our mock assessment by speaking with the most important people in your service. The service users. CQC place a large emphasis on people’s experiences of your service and this is heavily weighted.

We will also speak with your staff and look for any feedback from partners you may work with.

Final Assessment Report & Recommendations

We will aim to get your final assessment report written and sent to you within a week of completing your assessment.

This will be a comprehensive report, which will grade you using the Single Assessment Framework criteria for each evidence category and each quality statement under the Key Questions. You’ll also receive an overall grade.

We will include a set of recommendations to help bring you into the Good or Outstanding overall grades.

Processes and Observations

We then move onto check your processes, policies, procedures and documents. We check everything that CQC will want to see.

Where possible, we will also undertake observations of staff performing their duties. This is only where the evidence category exists for your service type and for that quality statement. Additionally, we will only do this where we have the permission to do so.

Presentation and Support

We then present our findings to your managers, and help them understand the requirements to meet to improve their rating.

We can also offer support in implementing any changes needed if this is requested^.
