Why Mock Pharmacy Assessment?
Did you know that the GPhC undertake regular UNANNOUNCED pharmacy inspections throughout the year? If you’ve ever had an inspection, you’ll know how the floor can feel like its fallen from beneath you when they hand you their warrant card! If you have not had an inspection yet, its important to know that your pharmacy premises are meeting the GPhC standards at all times, as the inspection can happen at any time!
The GPhC will inspect even if a locum is the current Responsible Pharmacist so its vitally important that you have everything in order.
Our registered pharmacy professionals have decades of experience in community and hospital pharmacy and understand how you can demonstrate evidence with the GPhC standards. Let us support you in making sure you and your teams are ready for inspection at any time!
We’ll create a recommendation list and structured ways in which you can implement the changes needed. We can also help support you in the implementation of those changes if needed^.
We can undertake the assessment on site or remotely. Assessments cost £350 for a one day assessment and report writing.
Our Mock Assessment Approach.
Observation of Staff & Process
We start our mock assessment by observing interactions between staff and patients. We also ask staff questions like the GPhC would do and pose scenarios to gauge their understanding of your SOPs and the law.
We also observe sales of medicine, dispensing, clinical and accuracy checking practices while on site.
Final Assessment Report & Recommendations
We will aim to get your final assessment report written and sent to you within a week of completing your assessment.
This will be a comprehensive report and we will include a set of recommendations if needed to help support you in meeting the standards.
Documents and Processes
We then move onto check your processes, policies, procedures and documents. We check everything that GPhC will want to see.
We will test these processes by observing staff at work or by giving staff a scenario to talk through.
Ongoing Support (if needed)
We can also offer support in implementing any changes needed if this is requested^.
