CareFind directory to include home care providers.
The CareFind.com website – a free, public directory supported by DHSC and NHS England – will expand to list home care (domiciliary care) agencies in early 2026. Originally launched for care homes, CareFind is embedded on NHS.uk and local authority sites to help families find trusted care services. According to recent updates, over 3,000 home care providers had already created profiles in the Capacity Tracker system in advance of a February 2026 launch.
Regulatory/operational impact: This isn’t a new regulation, but it is an important development in how services are marketed to the public. Home care providers are effectively being listed on an NHS-backed finder service. Profiles are linked to the existing Capacity Tracker portal, so providers won’t need separate logins. While not compulsory, having an accurate CareFind profile will increase your service’s visibility to families and referral teams.
Key actions for providers:
- Log in to Capacity Tracker and complete your CareFind profile as soon as it is enabled. (Watch for the invitation or email from the Capacity Tracker team.)
- Populate the profile with up-to-date information (service types, locations, languages, etc.) so that families and hospitals see accurate details.
- Monitor and refresh this information regularly (especially vacancies or booking processes) since families will use it to compare services.
- Coordinate with your ICS/local authority who may promote CareFind for hospital discharge referrals or social care assessments.
By getting on CareFind early and maintaining data, home care agencies can ensure they benefit from this new public signposting, ultimately supporting business and integrated working.
